Humà

Théatre Outremont , 1248 avenue Bernard Ouest, Outremont, Qc

Beatrice Deer and throat-singing partner Pauyungie Nutaraaluk join HUMÀ ensemble, winner of the Montréal Muse competition organized by Vision Diversité, has earned the privilege of performing at the Théâtre Outremont, on April 14 at 8 p.m.

HUMÀ is composed of Doriane Fabreg (Dobacaracol), Caroline St-Louis (Give), Blaise Margail (Gypsy Kumbia Orchestra, Cali) and Stephan Ritch (Give): 4 letters, 4 artists, and the 4 major stars of the Ursa Major constellation, the source of numerous tales and legends. Their warm voices and poignant lyrics grace a musical score that combines vocal harmonies, grooves, beatbox, percussion, guitars, keyboards and brass. What results is a kind of travel log , a multi-coloured tapestry of influences. Their concert is one of sharing, at once unique and grandiose.

Opera-trained Caroline St-Louis and her husband Stephan Ritch, an accomplished guitarist and jazz composer-arranger, are the driving forces behind the group GIVE.

Steeped in jazz and R & B, Doriane Fabreg co-founded the now-defunct group DOBACARACOL, the winner of a Disque d’or and numerous awards. She has enjoyed immense success on both local and international stages for over a decade.

Finally, Blaise Margail, a versatile French-Catalan-Québécoise musician, has an impressive track record that includes hundreds of highly diverse concerts in both Europe and the Americas.

For its show at Théâtre Outremont, HUMÀ will be opening up new horizons with the help of various special guests. What could be better than a group of friends, musicians with completely different backgrounds and influences from around the world sharing the stage! Joining the group will be Mamselle Ruiz (Mexico), Beatrice Arnatuinnaq Deer (Nunavik), Tomas Jensen (Argentina) and the La Clique Vocale choir. Over the course of this one-of-a-kind evening, a new and unusual path, from south to north, will be gloriously traversed.
